Outdoor fireplaces don’t have to be left out in the open air. A covered porch is the perfect place to add an outdoor fireplace. With an open gable roof we were able to play on the ceiling height by stacking the stone for this fireplace all the way to the ceiling. The contrast between the white posts and the dark tongue and groove ceiling is just remarkable. By adding black slender spindles on the railings capped with dark wood to match the ceiling the look of this porch is 100% polished and 100% gorgeous. The addition of a ceiling fan and a bamboo shade means these Salt Lake homeowners can control the temperature on this porch quite easily. And if the weather gets a little chilly, building a real wood fire will be a perfect way to end the day. Pull up a chair and watch the flames dance and the wood crackle.
